New LiveLinux site to come soon... using CUSTOM CSS!

Posted by livelinux on March 25, 2012 at 7:50 AM Comments comments (0)

The new LiveLinux site is being made right now.... and we're using custom CSS and code! The advantage is the site will look lovely, but it means that the forums won't be there. Expect a new forum site to appear in the next few months. Remember that if there's posts you want to keep, make a copy of them now.

Enjoy the new layout!

Hi all,

Just to remind you that Ubuntu 11.10 has released (ready for us to code!), it has many bug fixes and new features including:

  • New login manager using LightDM
  • GNOME 3.2 with option to install gnome-shell
  • New scrollbars
  • Updated 'gwibber' messaging client
  • Improved Unity interface

So if you are going to develop, or you just want to have a mess around with the base distribution, why not go and download Ubuntu now!

*NEW* Official forum signatures!

Posted by livelinux on August 12, 2011 at 2:40 PM Comments comments (0)

You want a real forum signature?? Then get a LiveLinux official one - it is a shame to the signatures that   have no other meaning. Contact me for an offical signature. Or if you want to make one yourself, the colours are easy to work out and the font is Museo 500.

Or, maybe you just don't want one. Fine, but make sure your signature is 500 pixels wide and 150 high. For your own good. (actually we will allow it to 200 but 150 will make it look better)

This is a very important matter.

When I got Fedora 15 earlier, I was all happy-slappy on how it work just work fine. The live CD booted without a glitch, and it installed fine. When I go to boot Fedora though, it turns out that a crucial piece of GNOME was missing.

Always remember to run through the MD5 checksums. Here are some links to tutorials:

Some good news for our project - we have joined up with Edgasoft to provide the best experience possible from Codename Zephyr. This means they will provide some of their apps as features on our desktop composition so that the end user gets the better result.

Stay tuned for more info!

Today we are starting to actually do things to the project. This begins with announcing that this is not an operating system, more of a Desktop Compilation or Composition, a set of programs for the end user. We will use existing platforms (GNOME 3), but will try to encorporate our own programs. And of course LiveLinux will be free for the end user(s) to download and use.

From the photos page you will be able to see the new logo concepts; please email [email protected] with the one yo...
